The LJP Summer Promenade & Picnic 3.0 – 2017

An invitation from Lady Jane Productions:

Come Live in History at the Third Annual
Lady Jane Productions Summer Promenade & Picnic!

Sunday, July 9, 2017
1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Alberta Legislative Building Grounds
Edmonton, Alberta

Dress in Regency Era costume (c. 1800-1820), Summer Garden Party attire, or *NEW this year* 1867 attire in honour of Canada’s 150th anniversary of Confederation.

We’ll meet at the South end of the Alberta Legislative Building Grounds, take a stroll around, and then settle for a lovely picnic in a shady spot.

To connect with our Regency roots, extra entertainment will be provided in the way of an informative and amusing homage to Jane Austen, in celebration of the 200th anniversary of her life.

This event is FREE and open to all ages, but space is limited.
Please reserve a ticket here.

Please bring a packed picnic and seating (blanket or lawn chair) that you (or your trusty helper) can carry or pull in a wagon.  This is a glass and alcohol-free event.

Our house photographer, the wonderful and talented Nanc Price, will once again be on hand to capture the beauty of this experience.

This event is presented in collaboration with The Edmonton Jane Austen Society.

See the Dressing for the Promenade page for more info on promenade attire.

For more information, please email Lady Jane.

To whet your appetite, here are pictures from last year’s event at the St. Albert Botanic Park:

At last year’s promenade, the weather was perfect.  It was a little overcast, and the sun came out to greet us.  It was certainly warm enough that the shelter of the trees in the cherry orchard was most welcome.

Our photographer, Nanc Price, did a phenomenal job of capturing the beauty and joy of the day, as well as the wonderful expressions on the faces of the people that we met in the garden, who were also enjoying a picnic in the park.

Here are a few more pictures from Nanc’s site.
